THE USE OF LANGUAGE ASPECT IN THE DISCOURSE OF POLITICAL ADVERTISING IN PADANG

Political advertisement has its own phenomenon since it is presented at specific time. It commonly shows up at any specific time during the legislative (lawmakers) and executive (president, governor, regent, mayor) election. This research aims to describe the elements, the structure, and the use of linguistic aspects in political advertising in Padang. This research involves three stages; data provision, data analysis, and presentation of analysis results. At the first stage, data was collected by finding out clippings concerning political advertising in 2009. They were further photographed and recorded. The analysis applies contextual method based on theories of socio-pragmatics. The analysis results are presented in descriptive manners. The structures of political advertisements in Padang have been shaped by two components, which are categorized into main and explanatory components. Besides, the use of linguistic aspects of the political advertisement in the city comprises capital letters, repetition, abbreviations, acronyms, code switching, code mixing, rhymes, couplets, metaphors, and antithesis

How Psychopragmatic Studies Can Be an Approach to Seeing a Pattern of Covid-19 Spread

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused widespread concern and apprehension among individuals globally, including those residing in Indonesia. This infectious disease primarily affects the respiratory system. This investigation uses psychopragmatic analysis to analyze various types of discourse that may contribute to the propagation of Covid-19 or coronavirus. Specifically, the study will focus on panic and anxiety speech, which are influenced by the speaker's psychological state. The theoretical framework employed in this research is based on Capano (2013). The utilized research methodology is founded on Sudaryanto's (2015) perspective, employing a distribution approach. The findings of this research indicate that a speaker's psychology can impact the development of Covid-19 in other speakers, as evidenced by the influence of panic and anxiety speech. This phenomenon arises from the experience of panic and anxiety, resulting in an excessive manifestation of fear and anxiety. AbstrakPandemi Covid-19 telah menimbulkan kekhawatiran dan ketakutan yang meluas di kalangan individu secara global, termasuk mereka yang berada di Indonesia. Penyakit menular ini terutama memengaruhi sistem pernapasan. Investigasi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis berbagai jenis wacana yang dapat berkontribusi pada penyebaran Covid-19 atau virus corona dengan menggunakan analisis psikopragmatik. Secara khusus, penelitian ini akan berfokus pada pidato panik dan kecemasan yang dipengaruhi oleh keadaan psikologis pembicara. Kerangka teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini didasarkan pada Capano (2013). Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan didasarkan pada perspektif Sudaryanto (2015), dengan menggunakan pendekatan distribusi. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa psikologi seorang pembicara dapat berdampak pada perkembangan Covid-19 pada pembicara lain, terbukti dengan pengaruh pidato panik dan kecemasan. Pengamanan Data Teks Dengan NTRU Dan Modulus Function Pada Koefisien IHWT Citra Warna

The development of digital information have caused the rise of information technology security to protect text data that contains secret. Steganography is one of many solutions for securing text data by hiding the text data on an image so that another party would not know the existence of such data. Criteria of a good steganography involves imperceptibility, fidelity, robustness dan recovery. One steganographic method is CD (Coefficient Difference), adopted from PVD (Pixel Value Differencing) which does hiding in spatial domain using difference of two pixel values that results in large modification of pixel values, reducing imperceptibility. Modulus function is used to solve such shortcoming in CD by using the modulus function on embedding, minimizing pixel modification during the process, resulting in improved imperceptibility. In this final project, IHWT (Integer Haar Wavelet Transform) are used to keep imperceptibility high. To improve the security, cryptographic method NTRU is applied on the secret message before it is hidden in image. The result showed that the combination of NTRU, IHWT and modulus function yields good imperceptibility, with PSNR value above 40 dB while the stego image resist salt and pepper noise attack of 0,002% and contrast addition of maximum amount on

Peningkatan Kesantunan Berbahasa Indonesia: Tulis dan Lisan dalam Literasi di SMPN 43 Padang

The activity aimed to improve the language skills of SMPN 43 Padang students, both written and verbal, in writing letters. It was considered necessary due to problems arising from the impoliteness of some students of junior high school in both oral and written communication for both formal and non-formal situations. The method used in this community service was participatory, planned by the Study Program of Indonesian Literature lecturer of Universitas Andalas. Furthermore, the team visited the service centre through observation and communication with SMPN 43 Padang teachers to look for problems and solutions related to language politeness in the school. After that, the team and teachers collaborated by compiling an agenda for implementing the engagement service. During the implementation stage, the material was presented, followed by the active participation of students through oral and written communication practices. In the final stage, an evaluation was conducted to formulate the main problems and assess subsequent developments after the community service activities. Based on the review carried out through an analysis of student work results, in the form of a comparison before and after receiving the material and engaging in writing practice, this service increased students' Indonesian politeness
